Directions for the Activities and Software:
  1. Introduction:
Welcome to I Can Color. Listen as Bailey Bumble Bee helps you get started. Type your name, and then click OK.  Centered at the bottom of all the screens is the exit button, click on it if you want to leave the screen you are on. The program will save all of the pictures you color automatically until you clean them off.
  2. Pick-a-Page Paint Pallet:
There are 7 themed coloring areas with over 200 pictures to color in all. Starting at the top right of the screen the themes include; Trace and Print, Transportation, Playful Scenes, Phonics, Animals, Character Close-ups, and numbers. Select one of the areas to get started.
Click on the paintbrush in the lower right corner of the screen if you need help. The speaker in the lower left corner of the screen turns the sound off and on. To find out what something is or does just move your hand curser over the image and listen.
  3. Coloring Studio:
Use the yellow arrows on either side of the exit at the bottom of the screen to select the picture you would like to color. Next, click on one of the 32 color spats at the side of the screen. To change colors, click on the spinning dial to the left of the printer, at the bottom of the screen.
A white highlight around a paint spat will indicate which color or pattern is currently being used. To color the picture move the paintbrush curser over the area you would like to fill and click. The color or pattern will stay within the margins of the black lines. Use the spray bottle in the lower left corner of the screen to clean off all of the color from the picture. If you want to change just one area of a picture without erasing the entire scene, choose a new color or pattern and refill that area. Hint: If you fill an area with white it will look like there is no color.
  4. Sound:
You can turn the sound off and back on by clicking on the speaker at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Printer:
Click on the printer in the bottom right corner, to print the picture that is currently on your screen.
  6. Exit:
Click on the exit button centered at the bottom of the screen to leave the coloring studio and return to the Pick-a-Page Paint Pallet.
