Educational Tablet for Kids Wins Top Award

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (June 13, 2014) — School Zone Publishing announced that Creative Child Magazine, a national publication that provides parents with the latest information on how to nurture their child's creativity and raise well-balanced children, has honored School Zone's new tablet, Little Scholar®, with a 2014 Preferred Choice Award.

School Zone's Little Scholar tablet is a new educational tablet designed specifically for kids in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade.

Barbara Peacock, managing director at School Zone, stated, “We are thrilled that Creative Child Magazine has recognized our most ambitious project. Little Scholar is a huge source of pride for us as we expand our presence in e-learning. School Zone continues to develop educational content for emergent technology to help kids succeed in school.”

Over 150 premium learning apps are preloaded onto Little Scholar, including educational games, videos, e-books, and songs. School Zone created all of the content that is on Little Scholar. Little Scholar covers an essential curriculum for children 3 through 7 years old, building kids' skills in areas such as reading, math, spelling, science, logic, geography, and creativity.

Little Scholar also features a new educational video series for kids called “Charlie & Company™.” Charlie & Company uses live action and animation to teach kids a variety of concepts. The main character, a golden retriever named Charlie, embarks on learning adventures with his animals friends and his “anywhere teacher,” Miss Ellie. Brian Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe composed the catchy musical scores for Charlie & Company.

“School Zone designed this tablet to be a positive learning experience for parents as well as kids. So we included a password-protected section for parents and the A+ Reporting app that shows dynamic graphs of kids' activity with each Little Scholar program. Our customers trust that we put families first when we make our products,” continued Peacock.
