A Homeschool Blog
I can't not even begin to explain how absolutely necessary it is in my day for my preschooler to do some independent work. Really. I am not sure we could homeschool if I didn't have a few moments of him working quietly so I could assist my oldest with his math. Preschoolers need a TON of direction with lessons, even lessons that come from a preschool curriculum. He is not quite reading yet, so I have to read the instructions to everything before he can begin. He hates it, as do I. So I take much delight in watching him work independently on learning activities.
I have posted before about my love for School Zone products (reading series review and Super Flash workbook review) and their knack for making learning activities that are easy enough for kids to use alone.....ya know without parental supervision. AMEN!!
School Zone nicely sent us a set of their new Three-Letter Words dry erase cards to try out! I probably could have written this review without even taking them out of the box. School Zone continues to deliver high-quality educational materials--I have never been let down! My son got right to work on his school work. All by himself. Without asking me a thousand times what to do. The Three-Letter Words set comes with 32 cards that cover over 100 sight words. It allows children ages 3-6 to copy the word 2 times, and then write it all by themselves one time. Of course, they are clued by the vibrant pictures!
He worked hard for at least 30 minutes, alone. That is PRECIOUS time to moms!!! He was so proud of his hard work! This dry erase set brought me 30 minutes of peace and quiet--worth hundreds in my opinion, BUT the Three-Letter Words set and other dry erase card sets are just $12.99. Quite the bargain. School Zone has a large selection of preschool/kindergarten materials including many interactive flash cards!
